My story
Microlend began supporting an entrepreneur in the Mutumba District of easten Uganda in July 2019
He was hoping to successfully pursue two business ventures:
* Purchase of shoes for resale within the local community
* Rent a plot of land to grow cassava for his family’s own consumption and to sell to other local families
How Microlend helped
With the profits from the two businesses, he has been able to make improvements to his family's house and and pay school tuition fees for his five children.
Prior to the improvements, his house was grass-thatched. He has now reinforced the roof and walls with support beams, sand and bricks which now provides greater protection from the wind and rain.
